Company Overview

Mangalam (India) is the flagship company of the Mangalam Group and was incorporated and granted Customs House Agent (CHA) status in 1983. The original aim of Mangalam (India) was to provide Customs Clearance services to ease the process of navigating through the complexities of the Indian Customs systems.

With the business focus keenly attuned to Customs Clearance, the considerable development led to an extension of the flagship company, Mangalam (India). In 1989, Sumangalam (India) was formed and also granted CHA status by the Indian Customs Authorities. The extension of the Mangalam Group with Sumangalam (India) reinforced the Group’s focus on Clearing and Forwarding.

As the needs of our clients grew, Mangalam Shipping & Logistics was established in 1993 to integrate Logistics Solutions in order to offer point-to-point customizable service offerings and increase vigilance and control over the entire supply chain process. Mangalam Shipping & Logistics was granted the status of a registered Multimodal Transport Operator (MTO) authorized by the Directorate General of Shipping (Ministry of Shipping), which enables us to issue our own Multimodal Transport Documents (MTD), which are globally acceptable by Banking Institutions.

Infrastructure

Our Head Office, Mangalam House, is located by the Mumbai Port, in the Historic Ballard Estate area.

We also maintain dedicated branch offices by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) at Nhava Sheva, and at the Mumbai Air Cargo Complex.

In order to best service the range of business activities we carry out, we currently staff over a 150 employees and maintain our own fleet of Trucks, Trailers and Cranes which are assigned exclusively for our logistics solutions clients.
